This fabulous variety is a fragrant, robust lavender that, due to its short size and tightly held blooms, makes a great low hedge; it can also be massed in the garden; blooms profusely in spring and is then a fragrant gray green shrub
Versatile, colorful Heuchera adds dramatic color to a multitude of settings from flower beds and mixed borders to porch and patio containers. Dark purple, almost black, leaves maintain their rich color all season long. Tiny, creamy white, bell-shaped flowers rise on wiry stems above the dense mound of foliage in May and June. While Heuchera will tolerate shade, the foliage color and general vigor of the plant will not be as good. Named after Obsidian, the dark colored volcanic glass often used as a gemstone.

Tough and handsome native ornamental grass is especially useful in hot, dry areas. Narrow, fine-textured leaves form an arching, rounded mound, the leaves turning gold brushed with orange in fall, then tan in winter. Airy pinkish brown flowers rise well above the foliage in late summer, eventually dropping their mature seeds in late fall. Some say the flowers smell like popcorn with a hint of cilantro! Coral Bells ‘Caramel’ earns its name with ruffled foliage in warm shades of apricot and caramel that glow from spring through fall. Airy sprays of soft pink flowers rise on slender stems in summer, drawing butterflies to the border. Forming a neat mound about a foot tall, it’s perfect for edging a path, layering at the front of a bed, or filling a container with season-long color. A nativar bred from North American natives, it pairs the toughness of the species with refined good looks. Deer and rabbits tend to leave its handsome leaves alone.
