A spectacular new addition for smaller home landscapes, this is an appropriately small accent tree that features blazing red hot seeds in late summer and fiery fall colors. It's more tolerant of drought and alkaline conditions than the otherwise similar Amur maple. Hot Wings Tatarian Maple is primarily grown for its highly ornamental fruit. It features abundant showy cherry red samaras in late summer. It has dark green foliage throughout the season. The lobed leaves turn outstanding shades of yellow, orange and red in the fall.
