Lilyturf, Monroe's White

‘Monroe’s White’ Lilyturf stands apart from typical Liriope with bright white flower spikes that emerge above dense, dark green strappy foliage in summer and persist through fall. As a true evergreen, its bold mounding clumps maintain structure and color through the coldest Michigan winters, anchoring shaded beds year-round. The white blooms give way to glossy black berries that attract birds and extend the season well beyond the last flower. Exceptionally problem-free — deer, rabbits, insects, and disease all pass it by — it also handles the root competition of Black Walnut trees and controls erosion on slopes. Use it as a ground cover under trees, a crisp edger along paths, or a textural counterpoint to broad-leaved shade companions.
