With attractive variegated leaves and orchid-like flowers, this shade-loving plant from the lily family is wonderful for naturalizing in the the woodland garden or massing in moist, shady areas. Oblong, dark green leaves on slowing spreading stems are irregularly streaked with golden yellow. In September and October subtly beautiful, white star-shaped flowers spotted with purple emerge at the tips of the stems. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Likes to be evenly moist, so remember to water during dry periods.
