Lilyturf, Big Blue

Big Blue Lilyturf is an adaptable, evergreen ground cover that thrives where many plants struggle—in shade, under trees, and even in Juglone-affected soils beneath black walnuts. Dense, strappy dark green foliage forms neat clumps that provide reliable, year-round ground cover for difficult spots. Spikes of blue-purple flowers appear in summer and fall, followed by dark berries that persist into winter and attract birds. Growing 12 to 18 inches, it’s effective as an edging plant, mass planting, or accent in mixed shaded beds. Deer and rabbit resistant, requiring very little maintenance once established.
