Dogwood, Redtwig
Cornus sericea
$49.99
Unit price perFast growing, low-maintenance, hardy and versatile redtwig dogwood is a garden workhorse. This multi-stemmed, generally rounded plant has clusters of small creamy white flowers in spring followed by bluish white berries that birds love. Its oval leaves turn a burgundy color in fall. The plant really shows off in winter with its bright red stems. Young stems have the best color so its best to occasionally remove older, thicker branches. Excellent massed in the shrub border, especially with an evergreen backdrop, for the winter stem color. Also makes a nice natural hedge if space allows.
