Duchess of Albany Clematis is a standout among clematis for its distinctive tulip-shaped flowers in a rich, rosy-pink with a deeper pink central stripe—quite unlike the flat, open blooms of most large-flowered varieties. This vigorous texensis clematis climbs readily to 5 to 9 feet, producing its charming nodding blooms from summer and continuing into fall for a particularly long season. It performs best on a trellis, pergola, or fence in full sun and looks especially beautiful trailing over an arbor or scrambling through a shrub. Deer and rabbit resistant, with butterflies and hummingbirds drawn to the blooms throughout the season. A remarkably disease-resistant variety with excellent cold hardiness.
