Asparagus ferns are an easy to care for evergreen houseplant with feathery, fern-like, clumping leaves. They were named fern for their appearance but ferns reproduce via spores while Asparagaceae reproduce via seeds. This plant is an edible vegetable and can get around 6 feet large. Ming fern’s branches grow in a zig zag pattern and although it appears super soft like the other Asparagus ferns, it has spikes on its stems.

Light: Needs bright but filtered light; avoid direct sun as it can scorch leaves.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 1-2 inches to dry out before watering.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50-60%). Use a table top humidifier or a pebble tray.
Temperature: 65-75°F. Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents.
Soil: Use a well-draining indoor potting mix.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
