The plant grows quickly into a dense, globose shape. The leaves tend to hang on late into the fall without appreciable fall color. Ideal plant for massing in the shrub border. Plant with Mohican viburnum for better fruit display.

Hetz Columnar Juniper is a dwarf conifer which is primarily valued in the landscape for its distinctively pyramidal habit of growth. It has emerald green evergreen foliage. The scale-like sprays of foliage remain emerald green throughout the winter.

It is quite adaptable, prefering to grow in average to wet conditions, and will even tolerate some standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH.
