Seed Savers Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli

$4.25

Heirloom, Non-GMO, Open-Pollinated. This broccoli variety grows slowly in temperate winters and produces an abundance of spectacular purple, buttery-soft, and nutty-flavored shoots in the spring. Originally listed in John Mason’s 1793 seed catalog, it yields both florets that can be eaten fresh in salads or steamed or stir-fried as a side dish and leaves that add flavor and texture to stir-fries and salads.

Growing Instructions: Start seeds indoors and plant out just before the last frost. Broccoli prefers cool temperatures. In many regions, you can grow it as both a spring and a fall crop.
