Fierce Falcon Bugleweed makes a bold statement for such a small plant—its near-black foliage forming a dramatic, low carpet that sets off the rich purple flower spikes in vivid contrast. Growing under a foot tall and spreading to fill gaps along borders, paths, and shaded slopes, it handles the difficult conditions that stop other groundcovers cold. Spring and early summer bring dense spikes of deep purple blooms that butterflies find irresistible, while the striking dark foliage provides a rich backdrop through the rest of the season.
