Becky Shasta Daisy Care Instructions

Planting

Location:

Choose a site that receives full sun for optimal growth, as this perennial thrives in well-drained soil with moderate moisture.

Spacing:

Space the plants at least 18 inches apart to ensure proper air circulation and minimize disease risk.

Watering

Water it regularly to maintain moderate moisture in well-drained soil, ensuring the plant does not dry out between watering sessions.

Fertilizing

Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support vigorous growth and blooming.

Pruning

Prune this perennial in early spring to remove any dead or damaged stems and encourage fresh growth.

Mulching

Apply a 2-3 inch layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant in early spring to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Cheerful, long-blooming daisies brighten sunny beds and borders and also make excellent fresh cut flowers. Becky is a sturdy variety with strong stems that support masses of bright white, 3-4" flowers with yellow centers in June and July. Removing the faded flowers really helps to extend the bloom. Looks great with Tickseed (Coreopsis), Dianthus, Salvia and ornamental grasses. Avoid heavy, wet clay soil.
