Belle Poitevine is a graceful rugosa rose, bearing large, loosely double blooms of soft mauve-pink with a rich fragrance. The crinkled, healthy foliage and upright, bushy habit make it a handsome informal hedge or specimen. Plant it in full sun, where it reaches three to five feet and resists salt, deer, rabbits, and disease. Red hips follow the summer flowers to extend the display into fall. Tough and self-reliant, it needs little care to flourish. For fragrant, old-fashioned pink on a rugged plant, Belle Poitevine charms.
