Kaffir Lime is a medium-sized shrub that is commonly grown for its edible qualities. It produces green oval fruit which are usually ready for picking from early spring to late winter. The fruits have a tart taste.

The fruit are most often used in the following ways:

  • Fresh Eating
  • Cooking
  • Juice-Making
  • Sauces

Height:  5 feet

Spread:  4 feet

Sunlight:  full sun  partial shade 

Light: Need full sun for several hours a day (direct light). Ideal for bright south-facing windows or outdoor growing in summer.
Water: Water sparingly, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. These plants prefer dry conditions.
Humidity: Low humidity (30-40%) is best; avoid misting.
Temperature: 65-85°F. More tolerant of heat but protect from cold temperatures below 50°F.
Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.
Fertilizer: Fertilize once a month during spring and summer with a diluted cactus/succulent fertilizer.
