Variety that produces fruit on un-rooted runners making it a winner for strawberry pots or container gardening.

1) The most common method for planting strawberries is in the matted row system. Set your new plants 18-24 inches apart in rows 3-4 feet apart.
2) Allow their new runners to set in the row up to 2 feet wide, removing plants that stray beyond that boundary.
3) Be careful to keep the crowns just at the soil surface, do not plant too deep or they might rot or too shallow as they will heave.
4) Water well at time of planting and continue irrigation through September as drought stress will affect harvest. Fertilize if necessary.
5) Remove flowers the first two months so that plants produce more runners.

Antique flowers with a delicious perfumy scent. Sweet peas were discovered by a Sicilian gardener in the late 1600s; he followed his nose, and their fragrance beckoned. By the early 20th Century, they were one of the most sought-after flowers for English gardeners. Breeding these flowers for color, size, ruffle, and adaptation to different climates became the rage. But something happened along the way: their fragrance faded. Let the heady perfume of this mix return you to the days when sweet peas weren't just for show but were also for smell!

Sweet peas are not the same as edible garden peas, in fact, they are toxic. Do not consume!

Called finnocchio in Italy, this fennel variety has broad overlapping leaves that form a large, edible, bulb-like base below its celery-like stalks. The bulb and stalks, as well as the feathery, dill-like leaves that top this 3' tall plant, have a mild licorice or anise flavor. This tender perennial grown as an annual prospers when given a steady supply of moisture.

Instructions: Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Harvest before plant blooms to keep bulb from becoming tough. Prefers well-drained rich soil.

What’s not to like? The leaves of this boldly colored looseleaf lettuce are flavorful, sweet, crisp, and tender. Large, abundant leaves have frilly edges and grow on plants that reached 9-11" tall and 1' wide at Seed Savers Exchange’s Heritage Farm in 2018 . Plants do well in summer heat and bear leaves that are light yellow-green in the center and dark red/purple toward the edges. Seed Savers Exchange member Louis Van Deven received this variety in 1988 from a gardener in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

Charming large clusters of edible, double flowers in a myriad of colors, and one of the longest lasting cut flowers available! In the garden, butterflies and bees love the sweet and spicy scented flowers. As a biennial, Sweet William forms a lovely plant the first year, then flowers the second. In mild climates, plants may return the following year. However, for the best flower production, we recommend reseeding every year so you'll be sure to always have flowering plants.
