The beautiful Philodendron Florida Ghost is a rare Aroid. This is a highly sought-after plant, and it’s easy to see why! This plant gets its name because of the multi-lobed leaves that surprisingly unfurl in a glossy white color that look like a ghost floating on a stem. It is an evergreen hybrid and a vine climber. In fact, “Philodendron” means tree hugger in Greek. This plant is great for purifying the air. These plants are vine climbers. So you’ll need something for stability. This can affect the height of your plant. They are also slow growers so be patient as you won’t see results right away. They’re sensitive to cold weather, so during the winter, make sure your heat is at an appropriate level and be aware of drafty windows so it doesn’t freeze. Also, don’t place it near an air conditioner. This plant is toxic if ingested so keep away from children and pets.
- Light: Bright indirect sunlight. Best in a North facing window.
- Mature Height: Can grow up to two feet in length. An adult leaf can grow from 2-4 in in length.
- Water: Water once a week in fall and winter and three times in summer. Let the soil get dry between consecutive watering. Always avoid over-watering. As the water standing at the base may cause root rot.
