The variegated cream and green foliage decorating this small tree adds a lovely brightness to the garden. The layered branches create a vase-shaped form. Creamy white, 4-petaled flowers (bracts) in June are followed by red, raspberry-like fruit that birds enjoy. The leaves turn shades of pink and burgundy in the fall, the color often lasting for weeks. The patchy gray-tan-rich brown bark that develops on older trees is a great winter feature. For best growth this tree requires loose, acidic and well-draining soil. We recommend amending heavy clay soil with shredded pine bark and adding soil sulfur to make it more acidic.
Plants are constantly growing, ever-changing, and therefore unique. The plant you receive may vary from the photo, but rest assured, holds the same glorious potential!
