Flamingo flower (Anthurium andreanum 'White Heart') is native to the wet tropical mountain forests of Central and South America and therefore thrives in greenhouses or conservatories where the temperature doesn't drop below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This spectacular plant has glossy, heart-shaped, dark green leaves up to 1 foot long and stems that may grow to a height of 15 to 20 inches. It is one of the few plants that can move its leaves toward or away from the sun. Its white blossoms are distinguished by a straight flower spike.
