Granny Smith is a popular baking apple that ripens in early November. The flesh is firm and crisp with a very tart flavor. Also good for eating fresh (only for those who love tart!), sliced into salads and making juice. Keeps very well - up to 6 months in cold storage. Plant within 50 feet of a different apple variety or crabapple for cross-pollination.
