This very hardy, self-fruitful bush-type cherry produces loads of tart, dark red cherries (similar in taste to Montmorency) ripening in August and September. Birds tend to leave the fruit alone because of the late ripening. Showy white flowers in April. The plant is twiggy, bushy and rounded, growing about 4 feet tall. Can be used as a hedge or grouped in the shrub border. Very easy to grow in just about any soil that's not wet. No pollinator needed!
