Jean's Dilly is a small, refined spruce that looks great in pots as well as the garden. A super slow growing (2-4" per year) dwarf that maintains its dense, perfect conical form with no pruning, ever. Fine-textured, very short green needles display a distinctive twist during the growing season. While hardy, needles may burn during cold and windy periods in winter. Use an anti-desiccant-spray on the foliage to help lock in moisture during the winter months.

Sumac, Tiger Eyes
An exciting new plant on the scene featuring finely cut tropical-looking foliage which emerges chartreuse turning bright gold all season, with fabulous yellow, orange and scarlet fall color. Blue Star is a low growing, mounded juniper with bright steely blue foliage that contrasts beautifully with the typical greens of other garden plants as well as yellows and purples. The needles are radially arranged around the stems giving the appearance of stars. Great in the rock garden, as a low border plant or in a mass planting for the color effect.

Hakone Grass, Golden Variegated
This lovely ornamental grass enlivens shady areas or containers with its brightly colored foliage and graceful, flowing form. Aureola features slender, bright yellow leaves with a green stripe that flushes red in the fall. Interesting, dainty flowers extend outward from the foliage in August and September. For best foliage color and form choose a site in dappled sun, morning sun or late afternoon sun as hot midday sun will burn the leaves. In too much shade, the leaves lose their bright color and the plant becomes spindly.

Cool, gray-green leaves on arching burgundy stems add soft texture and unique color to shady areas and woodland gardens. Bugloss, Jack Frost
Jack Frost Bugloss features airy cymes of sky blue flowers with yellow eyes at the ends of the stems from early to late spring. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its attractive heart-shaped leaves remain silver in color with showy emerald green variegation throughout the season. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter.

Vine, Climbing Hydrangea
Beautiful, hardy, and adaptable, Climbing Hydrangea is perhaps the best flowering vine for our area. A self-clinging vine, it is best grown on a solid surface such as wood fence or pergola, stone or brick wall, or large tree. Glossy, large round leaves create dense coverage and fragrant, lacy white flowers in late June are spectacular. The stems often protrude outward, giving depth to the surface it is growing on. Peeling cinnamon brown bark on older branches provides great winter character. Sometimes slow to establish, but is worth the wait!

Lamb's Ears, Silver Carpet
Soft, fuzzy leaves have the look and feel of lamb's ears! Non-flowering variety is useful for providing textural contrast in front of or around taller plants, as an edging along sunny walks or used as a small-scale ground cover around young trees. Thick, tongue-shaped velvety gray leaves spread quickly to form a thick carpet of foliage. Can spread aggressively in rich soil. Easy to grow, but be careful not to over-water.
